Program Calendar

Our guild offers many exciting opportunities for the beginning to the advanced quilter.  Here is a sampling for a few of our ongoing activities: 

                Pot luck dinners
                Quilt games with a twist
                A tie in bee for pro bono quilts
             
With our exciting programs, workshops and guest speakers, look for some surprises along the way.  During July and August, informal gatherings take place with members working on individual projects.

Trunk Show -- Joan shared with us a fantastic range of quilts from her collection - both of her own creation and valuable antiques with interesting stories.

Wanted:  Unfinished projects & Orphan Blocks!  Jennifer & Karen will BEE collecting all of your unwanted offenders that you've tossed aside starting in May.  Bring these offenders to the May meeting and toss them in the BIG RED shopping cart, for futher punishment.

JUNE:

End of the year Dinner (for members only). 

In October, our Guild will be celebrating our 30th Birthday!  In conjunction with the Birthday Bash, we will be having a challenge for this event.  Materials for the challenge will be handed out at the June Dinner.  Be sure to attend the end of the year dinner and to receive your information and materials for the Birthday Bash Challenge!

July & August:  No formal meetings, but please come, and Sit & Sew or just come to visit.

MARCH PROGRAM:  CHINESE AUCTION!!

Karen & Jennifer put together a fantastic Chinese Auction with rows and rows of prize baskets and opportunities to win.  Thanks to all who contributed goods for the event.

 January

Pro Bono Tie-In Bee.  The guild will be making/assembling kits for our pro bono quilts.  If you would like to bring a machine to start putting together a top, please feel free to do so.

December (Members ONLY)

Holiday Party & Gift Exchange:   Don't foreget to bring a wrapped $10 quilt related gift for a fun exchange. 

Last names beginning with letters A - O are to bring an appetizer; letters N - Z should bring a dessert.  If your appetizer or dessert needs a utensil, bring it and be sure to label it with your name on the utensil.
 

There will be NO Show & Tell this evening.

Bring Back your Challenge Name tags! We will be voting and handing out prizes.

We also thank Anthony, “The Scissor Man”, for his blade sharpening service this month.  You keep us all sharp! 

September
We started September off with “Get to Know Your Guild President” as well as:

  • Name tag Challenge - A packet with the instructions and a special mystery material will be handed out at the meeting.  Name tags will be displayed and voted on at the Holiday Party.
  • Favorite Dessert Recipe – Forms and details will be available at the September and October meetings.
  • Sign-up for "Mended Heart"  Workshop!  Great way to use up your scraps of fabric and thread!
